FLEET FOXES - ALBUM COVER

Time to drop some knowledge again. The cover art of the self-titled Fleet Foxes album is a detail of Pieter Bruegel the Elder's 1559 painting called 'Netherlandish Proverbs'. At first glance, it seems like a typical medieval village scene, but it is when one looks further that one notices all the weird stuff that is going on. There is said to be over 100 proverbs illustrated in the whole painting such as: "where the corn decreases, the pig increases," "to toss feathers in the wind," "big fish eat little fish" and "love is on the side where the money bag hangs." Haven't listened to the Fleet Foxes in a while. Agree that the original painting is awesome though. I did the same reading up on the piece when I saw the cover art. Nice to know that I'm not that quirky.
