LOPTIMIST

I just got hold of the new Loptimist album "Mind Expander". I haven't had the chance to give it a good listen yet but has already rekindled my love for Asian hip-hop. Loptimist is a really dope producer from South Korea and to be honest there's not much I know about him except that I love his music. I became interested in hip-hop from Asia at a time when I was not particularly enjoying anything coming from the 'West'. What got me interested was the style of production. Very jazzy, like something from the 1990's. Also, because I didn't understand a single word of what was being rapped about, I didn't have to be bothered if these guys were rapping about guns, money, bling or bitches. A lot of good things happening overseas. It's Korea in the house.
